Supporting Development of the IWM Sectors and its Actors

As Local Capacity Builder (LCB), RETSC has implemented a short assignment on “Supporting Development of the IWM Sectors and its Actors” from July –December 2012 under support from SNV Nepal and implemented following activities:

• Baseline situation of the watermills in Nepal 2012
• Capacity needs analysis of IWM stakeholders
• Refresher training on association management
• Training on entrepreneurship and enterprise development
• Training on value chain development
• Support establishment of GOA federation
• Workshop with MFIs to Facilitate micro finance provision to IWM owners
• Need identification workshop with IWM owners
• Carry out R&D for improving efficiency, develop new end-uses including electrification (onsite and lab situation)
• Periodic reflection with IWM actors, clients and partners for sharing and learning
• Documentation and publication of lessons learned / cases
• Workshop to lobby for conducive policy environment for IWM
